With a firsthand experience witnessing poverty in the Global South, the founders of Pisgah International recognized the opportunity to combat poverty and improved livelihoods through education, providing access to quality health care, relief assistance programs, and actively working in communities in collaboration with development partners.

Our Story

Under the leadership and vision of Mr. Charles O Abbey and Mrs. Elizabeth Abbey, the idea of starting Pisgah International is a personal mission to improving livelihoods of marginalized communities by forging partnerships to build thriving communities. With prior experience starting and operating African Development Program (ADP), a national community focused non-governmental organization (NGO) in Ghana, had successes in partnering with the USAID, DFID now UK Aid, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the Government of Ghana (GoG), and other development partners to promote access to quality education in Eastern and Greater Accra Regions. Further, ADP collaborated with the Ghana School Feeding Program and World Food Program (WFP) to help children obtain nutritious food through the National School Feeding Program in communities where school children were at risk of malnutrition and starvation. With successes from such partnerships, The ADP partnered with other non-governmental organizations to provide relief and rehabilitation services to 50K+ during the violent ethnic conflict in the Northern Region of Ghana.
